1996 disco immobolizer issue
a year and a half ago my discovery started to exhibit issues starting. I would turn the key and it would only click from the passenger foot well. I took off the panel and beat the green box a bit and then it would start. I've also had issues where the hazards turn on by themselves and wont stop...- superderek3

Chongo, Why would it be toast if i didnt remove it? It is nested safely in with the flywheel, and I never removed that, simply unbolted the torque converter: (crank position sensor, if it wasn’t removed before removal and installation, there’s almost 100% chance it’s toast) What year was...- superderek3

Chongo, I was just looking at the manual, and There is only one harnes that connects to the transmission, for the inhibitor switch. I cant imagine that this would be my problm, the rest of the wiring connects to my transfer case, and I didnt swap that. Could I have messed up the crank...- superderek3

Thanks Chongo, thats a great Idea. I'll fiddle with the transmission tonight to see if I can get the disco to run any different depending on whats connected. With that being said, what sort of electronics are in the trans? The one I put in is from a 96 disco, which is the same year as the mine.- superderek3

well, I havent noticed any leaks. Also, the fuel pressure at the rail read 38lbs,, which is within the 2.3 to 2.5 bar that the manual reccomends.. I'm still at a loss here. Thanks for the reply!- superderek3

HI, I just put a different transmission in my discovery. The engine ran great when I pulled it in the shop, but after putting in the transmission it runs like shit. The idle is a bit rough and the throttle response is delayed. I'm lucky if I can get it to rev past 2000, and then it might bogg...- superderek3
