Replacing the Starter in a 98 Discovery.
I'm half way through replacing the starter in my '98 Discovery (144,000 miles). It took me most of the day to take the old one out. That top bolt was a friggin bear to get out. The manual makes it look easy with a long extension on your socket wrench but, by the time I threaded extension past... -

Old worn out '98 Discovery but New to the forum.
Hello from Portland, Oregon! I've had a 1998 Disco for about 6 years. It has over 140,000 miles on it and everything seems to be wearing out. I believe the local dealer thinks everyone should buy a new LR and discourages people to keep up their old ones by charging too much for repairs...- Le Rutt
