I just recently acquired my LR4 via BaT and swapped out the original wheel set with new 18" Defender steelies. I'm loving the ride and the look. I ended up going with Nitto Terra Grapplers (265/65/18). If anyone wants to go this route, you will need the Defender lugs in order to hold the black caps on.

I've been running them since August of 2021. Still love them.

Only issue now is that since I switched back to OEM brake discs and pads on the front, the brake dust is really visible on the white wheels.

EDITED: Realized I've been running the steelies since August 2021 and not 2022.

It looks clean. If I get new rims I'd get a set of polished aluminum, but I have found any that I like. The whole idea is to run BFG All Terrains with the white lettering on the outside. I love those tires.

Did you switch brakes when you went to the steelies? And then back to the OEM? Why?

My brake pad switch was unrelated to the wheels. I had run Hawk pads with OEM rotors in the front since October 2018 and loved them. They were getting worn and replaced them with new Hawk pads (and new OEM rotors) in April 2023. Hawk did something different to the backing on their pads and I could not get the new ones to stop squealing. Eventually, I just switched the pads to Ferodo (which is the OEM manufacturer). They work great, but create a lot of dust.
