1985 LR 90 engine swap

Converting a 1985 LR 90 from 4Cyl to 8

I was wondering how involved it is to swap a 4.0 into a 1985 L/R 90. I have the 2.5 gas motor that came in the truck and would like to swap a 4.0 that has a carb and an Lt77. My truck also has an LT 77. The truck also has A/C. I assume that it wouldn't be a strait one out, one in swap, but want to know if it will require major surgery.

It would involve some surgery! depending on what make engine you have. there shoud'nt be to much trouble with the gearbox. It would be easier to swap in a rover V8!

It is a L/R 4.0 lt. From a range rover.
