My check engine light came on last week and a code PO453 popped up. I was told by a local garage that I may need to remove the gas tank and replace a sensor. It sounds expensive. can I do this myself? Thanks, Tony.

Sounds to me like your gas cap wasn't tight.

Did you get the message shortly after you filled up? If it is, then its probably the gas cap. Just make sure that its put on tightly/ properly. The check engine isn't going to go away. Take your car over to Autozone and they'll check it for free. They'll give you the code and if they don't know what it is off the top of their head, make sure your write it down and check on it. My code was P0455.
