I was wondering; I am missing the remotes for my 2000 Discovery2 and found a wrecked one in the salvage yard. It has two working remotes. Could I get those AND the BCU and transplant that into my Rover? Would they then work? P

If you tried to replace the BCU, you would also have to replace the ECU from the same donor vehicle. You would be better off to just buy 2 new remotes woth bar code from EBAY and have them programed for you truck.

So the ECU is what actually controls the remotes? Guess I'll suck it up and buy the keys

It is better in the long run, look on EBAY or Amazon, make sure they come with a bar code slip or they won't program.
