I purchased my 2006 LR3 last year and noticed it had a aftermarket wood panel kit. It's become faded and I would like to remove it so it would be back to normal. I'm concerned about the adhesive that may remain on the dash after removing. Any suggestions as how take this stuff off?

I have had very good luck with Goo Gone to remove transfer adhesive used in double stick tape.

I have yet to wreck anything using WD40 as a goo remover, black mark remover etc from sort of hard materials such as flooring, plastic, and metal.

WD40 does not always work but is a best first try and nothing bad seems to happen.

The really good goo removers I find melt plastic very well - not the goal in this case.

If you do damage any of the pieces the fake wood is attached to the pieces are fairly inexpensive.
