Hello I am a noob and I need the name and number of a good Mechanic in Chicago, in the city is preferred as I don't like travelling 30-50 miles to the burbs to get my ride fixed.

I'm getting new tires (any reccomendations of a place to have them installed at? tirerack has some recs, but it seems expensive)

Also I have a feeling I need a bearing replacement as I have a rubbing noise coming from the front axle at pretty much any speed over 20mph, and I can't do it myself, just don't want to get ripped off, any help is greatly appreciated!

Oh yeah, Indy shops are preferred to the stealership as there is no warranty left and I have a LR3 if that makes any difference...

Hopefully someone from the area will respond with personal recommendations. A little research and there a couple I would at least try out. Keep in mind, you will need to supply the parts, because the parts are not available for purchase anywhere in the US presently.

A good shop should be able to put it on a rack and use a stethoscope to track the noise and confirm if it is the bearings or not.

Send me a PM with your details, e-mail, etc. and I can get you the parts for the diff.

Thanks, I can't believe there aren't any parts for these trucks in the US!

Anyway, I certainly hope its just the awful goodyear tires making this noise and nothing serious!

Going to put the General Grabber AT2's on this bad boy, can't wait!

There are parts available for most items. There are a few exceptions such as Differential, Compressor rebuilt parts, and so on. This is typical these days with many companies.

Thankfully it was just those TRASH goodyear wrangler tires, the General Grabber AT2's I put on them are whisper quiet by comparison!
