Catalytic converter noise

I was wondering if anyone has experienced this.

My catalytic converter is noisy.

It sounds like when you turn off the car when it's rained outside, it crackles.

I notice this at idle.

Should the LR3 purr like a kitten at idle??

It is not a concerning noise, but something I noticed.

I have yet to hit 1K on her, but was wondering if this is normal or should I take her in.

I believe it's normal. Mine did this for the first 3 months and was quite noticeable. Now, after 1 year and 20,000 miles, it comes and goes and is rarely noticeable.

Yep, it did on mine, too. Crinkling/cooling metal sound. You'll either eventually get used to it or it will go away over time or a little of both. As long as it's not the sound of an engine running w/o oil, you're good to go. But seriously, on mine it quieted out after a few months...
