You can reprogram the default ride hide to +2" if I'm not mistaken. Most haven't cited issues with using the air system off-road. I'd be concerned about ruining the base ride quality by pulling them out and going full mechanical.
Reduce issues that occur in off-road situations. Prefer mechanical. Also want 2” lift to fit larger tires

This. Gap Tool and add a couple of inches to standard height. With a 100K miles and sugar sand grinding away daily at my shocks, never had an issue. Also, I came back from a Pine Barrens run yesterday, (Quaker Bridge Road looks like it has been bombed and strafed for any of you New Jersians btw) both Jeep drivers - 06' and 11' Rubies both stock, were complaining of back ache afterwards. I was fine lol.
