To say something won't happen in the next 25 years because it cannot happen now seems... silly.

25 years is long enough to have some decent changes in infrastructure.

But less than 10 years (UK) and less than 15 years (California) is going to be a lot more difficult to achieve. I doubt either of those target dates will be hit.

lets hope we are still chitty chatting on this thread in 25 years about our LR4's and see who's right.

my post was really to say that rigidity in the matter is the kiss of death. How you make this happen is the same way you boil a frog. Slowly turn up the heat. In ten years, 25% of all sales need to be EV. In 15 years 50% of all sales need to be EV. From there, the next 50% will happen due to economics and no one will ever have to say, we are outlawing ICE vehicles.

LOL. Why do people believe this bunk? Politicians. Geez. Anyone who thinks ICE is going away in any industrialized nation in the next 25 years is just clueless. Main reason; there is no country with an electrical grid to support it. Even if you could generate the power need (which can't done today), the grid won't support it. So, what, there's just going to be millions and millions of EVs sitting in garages that can't go anywhere?

Let's quit being silly, shall we.
