hi, i bought a 99 freelander xei petrol today, and after reading hundreds of forums and reviews of what problems to look for when buying 1 ,i completely missed a couple on inspection.
1st one is the fan won`t work on speeds 1 and 2 and will this be the same as my transit van where you have to replace the thermostat in the engine bay somewhere?
2nd is the fuel guage dosn`t work and i`m hopeing that i will not have to replace the whole fuel pump to fix it?
3rd is i can`t think of a decent lie to tell my wife (who hasn`t driven it yet) about what the drowning noise is when driveing ,as i`ve already read its either the ird thing or something to do with the 3 to 1 ratio of the 4 wheel drive??? either way can it be lived with for a while without haveing to send it into a garage to give them loads of cash?
