Hitch ball mount? Is it so special?

Anyone know what is so special about the hitch ball mount kit that fits the hitch receiver? The dealer wants $425 for the receiver & $322 for the ball mount! I bought the receiver online for $275. Can I use any 2" ball mount?

Nope. I just bought the overpriced/overengineered receiver from them and used the tonque and ball from my last truck.

Thanks for the reply, I thought the LR dealer was full of sh** I cannot beleive that they wanted $322 for a $25 part!

page 209 of manual states that a 2" square drawbar with a length of not more than 9 inches and with a maximum rise of 2.5" and a mimimum rise of .75". The recommend 1.5" for the land rover hitch. Many stores have drawbars in this range for $25.
