I wanted to do this job at home as a DIY, have all basic tools.

Get the factory service manual somehow (ehem.. ebay) and do some research. And post a detailed howto if you dig into this.

If you have specific quesitons, I am sure folks here could help, though I haven't ever read of anyone doing this yet, even LR3.

Do you have an issue? What is the reason for needing it?

I don't know about the LR4, but on all other (recent/modern) cars I've seen, that's a pretty involved job.
