Installing New Cats

Planning on replacing my catalytic converters this weekend on my 97 Disco SE 7, 138k miles.

Can I cut the old cats out with a reciprocating saw or do I need to torch them off?

Also, do I have to secure the new cats with welds or can I clamp them in place?
