That's a great deal. I paid dealer invoice for a car back in 2008 when all hell broke loose.

Beautiful LR4! Prices might come down a little when BRENT rises above $120, that's when Saudi Arabia promises to increase output. But I think it would only bring it down a little bit. If we go into QE3, which is highly likely, and the Fed doesn't increase interest rates, we may see a dramatic increase. Both fuel and food. I guess we'll have to wait and see. As you noted, all of this is pure speculation on borrowed and very cheap money supply.

Count-what do you do? You appear to be quite knowledgeable of the capital markets. I'm still undecided on whether QE3 will happen or not. I think the Fed wants to appease the markets, but they have to worry about inflationary pressures at some point. I suppose we'll know the answer in mid June. I'm just glad I'm 3 miles from my office...$4.05/gal blows.

I work for an IT company but have an affinity for economics. I think the Fed will have no choice but to move forward with QE3 to appease the markets just like you said. It's an amazing trap they can't get out of. The market in its current state is doomed. Unfortunately, we are currently on a path that will have a very severe outcome. I personally expect continued inflationary pressure and rising commodities until the consumer can't afford basics anymore and pulls back enough causing this insane bubble to burst. Whatever the outcome, it's not going to be pretty. BofA and Citi are basically a government entity much like Fannie/Freddie and I feel the US stock market is the same since it is completely propped by the Fed/POMO and inside trading, not retail anymore. It's an illusion. Just remember that physical is better than paper... and if your appetite is for risk, then there's a ton of money to be made.

I agree - I got my deal worked out in January on a pre-ordered 2011 LR4 LUX with Vision assist and RSE - MSRP $61,365.

Negotiated final price $57,865 including the rubber mat set (a $250 value).

So basically I got $3750 off MSRP. And remember, that was in JANUARY. I bet you could get most deals $4000-4500 off MSRP now, especially on vehicles sitting on dealer lots.

Since the current oil price rise seems to be driven by nothing but pure speculation at this point (not actual increased demand/decreased supply - at least not in the past 2-3 months), you would think the "bubble" will have to burst at some point.

Here's the new ride:
Hey Weingarm,

I am just looking at these pics, somehow they did not show up at first. I have that exact LR4 - same color, etc. Awesome! :)

I think we should all post a picture of our LR4.
