Muffler Sound

Hi,

In my Disco 1 95, Auto transs

The center Muffler (exhaust) makes a sound as if some thing broken inside i showed it to a Rover garage & they advice me to remove the muffler & put a strait pipe.
They said that its ok to run without this muffler & the performance power also will be good.

Some body pls advice should i remove it ?
If i removed will it really give more power?
if it give more power will it effect the fuel consumption ?

please advice ??

You can remove it and either replace with muffler, glass pack or straight pipe.

It will not effect performance or fuel consumption, it will just make the vehicle louder.

Nope, just louder... a true sports car sounds like WOW on wheels.
