I have the wimpy low speed rated spare bolted to the underside of the ol LR3. Very disgusted that my 1999 Jeep had a full size mag spare and this beautiful rig doesn't. I'm assuming it is as simplae as buying another stock rim and new tire and punting this spare thing off a cliff...........or recycling it responsibly as the case may be :). Anything to watch out for when replacing this?

New to the LR3.

A definite no-brainer. Shop a little though, wheels/tires new can be expensive, but there are some pre-owned out there for the right price.

You should not pay more than $200 for the rim. Dealers like to charge upwards of $500 each.

The bargain new wheel is the five spoke V-6 wheel. RRC500242MNH. That one MSRp's around $230.
I shopped for a matching pre-owned to my 10 spokes and got it for around $150.

Thanks for the advice. I have the 18" ten spokes. Unfortunately there is not a lot of used LR3 stuff here in Vancouver. I found one on Ebay for under $200 but I think the shipping may **** me. Need to negotiate with the seller. Glad to hear it is a straight swap.

For what it's worth...I just bought 4 10 spoke rims for $500 and shipping from WA to CO was about $90...I see singles for about $150 fairly often on Ebay...

My 2005 SE7 V8 had a normal size/style 18in wheel/tire as the spare.

That's awesome, you probably have the HD package which means you have the rear electronic locking differential. You can climb walls that baby!
