I'm in Reno nevada and other than the dealer I do not have any
idea who to go to for service. Does anybody know of a reputable
mechanic in the area.
I need my drive line checked out as I think I have the front u-joint
going out. I don't have the time to tackle this one right now.

I will go to the dealer if I have to.

Thanks for any help.

I didn't see anyone local listed on those sites :-(
Thanks though Joey!

Any northern Nevada locals??

Also Joey is there any other way to confirm the U-joint going out besides taking the front drive shaft off?

Easiest way I know is to jack up the front or rear (depending on which end you are checking) and then move the driveshaft and feel for play in the U-joint as you turn it. You will more than likely feel the play.

I used to have a good mechanic that was factory trained, and charged very low rates compared to the dealership when I had a new VW Passat. He actually worked at the VW dealership and did all the work there after the shop closed, or on the weekend. I just met him up there through a salesman and found out he did side-work. You might be able to ask around at your Land Rover dealership through the salesman or parts dept. and find someone like that. I like going that route because your getting the same work done for a fraction of what the stealership charges and they are more skilled on your vehicle than anyone else.
