After I changed the battery and put Magnacore wires with the Bosch platinum 4+ plugs, the whine I had when I turned on the radio has gone. Is this a by-product of the battery change? Could a bad battery have caused all this to happen? Wow! I did not know how much a bad battery could cause havoc with the system.

The whine was most likely from the wires not the battery. Wires when they go bad loose some of their sound supresion.
So I assume the truck is happy now?

Mike,

Its never been happier. Runs great. I sent you a couple of messages, but did not hear back.

They did not find any problems with the alternator or the charging system.
