Good evening all. I'm trying to stay discipline to the maintenance schedule within my original owners manual. During my usual oil change at the dealer today (97K) I ask my service advisor about the tranny service at 100K. He states it is not suggested until 150K. That doesn't sound right to me and obviously not what is printed in the"service" insert of the owners manual. Any advise or insight would be welcomed.

Thank you in advance.

Well, I believe what's printed in the owner's manual is that the transmission is sealed for life. In other words, you never have to change the fluid. I think LR came back and corrected that to recommend fluid changes at 150k miles, but ZF, the manufacturer of the transmissions released a statement saying that the fluid should be changed at 75k miles! So... what does this mean? If it were me, I would base my interval on the company that makes the transmissions, which is why I just changed my fluid at 85k miles. That being said, I had the transmission fluid on my old Honda Accord "flushed" at 199k miles (I don't believe the fluid had ever been changed up to that point) and it immediately started having shifting issues after the flush. Now, on the Accord, I had a shop do it and they overfilled it by quite a lot initially, whereas on the LR3, I flushed it myself and filled it correctly. Conclusions? I dunno, but I think I'll keep the 75k mile intervals and do the changes myself (or perhaps at a dealer).

Did mine at 80k. There was a noticeable difference in how well it shifts now. Much smoother.

Yup, got my transmission flush at 76k. You can feel the smoother shifts.

I was told by a ZF specialist that the transmission oil should be changed every 75k. Unfortunately, my transmission didn't even make it that far. Died before 70K.
