wierd problem please help

Hi all...

I live in Northwestern Ontario Canada (bloody cold -45C with wind chill last night)...I've had no problem starting my 97 Disco and letting it idle to warm up, but over the last couple of days, it will run for about 15 to 20 mins and there is no heat when I get in, but after driving about 50 feet or so the heat kicks in and it is nice and warm in minutes. The antifreeze seems full (had it checked), so what am I missing.

well it sounds like a simple circulation problem, where the waterpump is not moving enough fluid thru the heater core or there is a restriction in the heater core itself, how is your thermostat? also there could be an air bubble in the system, pull the cap to the coolant tank and let her warm up with it off, also try with the radiator filler plug off...... and when did you last have the coolant changed, is the mix correct?, hope this helps -Andy
