Digging up an old thread, did this problem ever get solved? Anyone else have input?
My truck is doing the same thing, threw P0087 and went into restricted performance on a trip this weekend. It had actually thrown this code one or two other times late last winter but it went away on it's own in...
I can confirm that the door is only available as a complete panel even though you can remove just that component from the actual panel. My truck had some damage when I bought it (prior owner's children had cracked the speaker grilles), the dealer committed to fix before delivery and was then...
Hi all,
I'd like to get some floor mats for my new-to-me LR4. It came with first row mats but none in back, where my kids will be climbing in and out with snow and mud on their boots.
I don't like rubber mats, I'd prefer a carpet mat and ideally one that's custom for our vehicles and fits well...
Just note, regarding accuracy on the voltage reading - I would suggest checking against a known-good meter to establish a "calibration" offset, when cold and again when warm. They are often a tenth or two off when warm, but I've had a handful of similar meters in vehicles and I've noticed they...
I hope saltyfly doesn't mind if I slightly hijack the thread, but maybe we can stay focused by answering the following questions regarding the 5.0 v8, with a yes or no, plus mileage, and any relevant info:
1) Have you had actual injector issues? How did you remedy?
2) Have you cleaned/serviced...
I don't think we are disagreeing. I wasn't trying to speak to development timeliness so at least I'm not sure what you meant with your first point.
With respect to the second. I think you are describing the end result of what I talked about. The product line isn't differentiated on function at...
BeemerNut, you are referencing Bosch injectors and fpr's from conventional port injection engines. It is my understanding that the 5.0 is direct injected and therefore a completely different beast in terms of injectors. Is that not correct? Do you have actual experience maintaining direct...
Oh I agree, It's definitely a possibility. I was just curious about the probability. How many 5.0 vehicles that were noisy at "x" miles had an actual problem affecting use? That's all. My comment about "Ford" was tongue in cheek, I didn't mean to discredit the guy. Anyone trying to spread the...
It appears that the original statement above against the 19's was because of a dealer's (totally bogus) comment that the Conti tires were "too much." There's nothing wrong with the 19" wheels, there are plenty of good tires available for highway, snow, and light duty offroading.
I like Nokian...
Prior owner replaced the injectors in my truck around 90k miles according to a receipt I have. Not sure why, just providing as a data point. It was actually at the same time as the timing chain and guides.
I don't think it's fair to compare market strategies between LR and MB/Toyota.
MB and Toyota have a full vehicle lineup. There's a whole lot of diversity. That gives them stability and resourcing to go after niche products (like a "serious" off road vehicle) that a tiny brand like LR doesn't...
Interesting. It must be really bad in some motors then.
His explanation of the engine trying to "put in" timing around 6:15 or so is way out of left field... Almost as bad as calling this a Ford engine!
Well, good news. The headlight swap works. The LEDs appear to be wired to the same pins on the plug as the plain running light bulb is on my headlight, so swapping to the "with LEDs" headlight just means that you get the LEDs lit up in place of the running lights, which is exactly what I wanted...
My truck had the timing chain and guides done recently - before I bought it - so I'm not super concerned about this, but I am curious as to what I had thought was the OP's actual question:
Has anyone had an actual failure of a chain or guide? As in, the motor was non-functional because the part...
The iLand tool can read and reset problem codes, read settings (ie DRLs) but not change them, can't do new keys. According to an email response from AB. Doesn't sound as useful as the gap tool.
I am surprised given the marketing material on the website makes it sound all powerful.
