I Ran 265/65r18 (32") for years and no gearing problems.
255/70r18 is only a 10" wide tire.
Thats almost an inch (8%) narrower and will help prevent a lot of rubbing...
Yes - the G4s cut the cowling to fit 7" round lights. I wanted to stay same as well. Here are some pics I found from the install I followed (sorry I dont remember the name to give credit):
Traction control is a microprocessor controlled 'fight' between engine and brakes.
Makes sense that it requires 2000 rpm and a minimum amount of detectable wheel spin.
This is exactly why I prefer the ARB air locker.

Not available on white, blue, grey, or black - but there are lots of 3rd party wrap/tint places that would do bumper-to-bumper wraps for about that same price.
