    bragging !

2012 LR4 here with 130k miles. Maintenance is expensive indeed. It's my daily driver, so there is always a lingering concern if or when it will die on me. I've been looking into springing for a replacement new LR vehicle, but the ordering process and market overall is a **** show right now.

When is it time to say goodbye?

2012 LR4 V8 with 116k miles. It's my daily driver with 100 miles roundtrip work commute. $4000-5000 yearly expense for maintenance, repairs. Then add gas expense. Paid $1000 for a rental last summer while the truck was in the shop waiting for parts (delaved because COVID). It's irrationally...

    Another Defender hint?

I was referring to the completely different market demographic of the Bronco vs the Defender, not the physical attributes of the two trucks.

    Another Defender hint?

JLR abandoned it's off-road market segment years ago. We established that when they came out with the D5 rather than a proper replacement for the LR4. MacGovern does not need nor want a blue-collar consumer to buy his products;he is too arrogant for that. The typical Defender buyer will never...

    Another Defender hint?

This thread reminds me of when the re-designed RRS came out in 2014. There was almost universal derision for the new model in this forum, particularly with it's base price of almost 70k. Today, every other LR vehicle I see on the streets is an RRS. The D5, however, is a totally different story.

    Another Defender hint?

Given that the V8 FFRR is 10 grand more the $95,000 MHEV model, just imagine how much a V8 110 Defender or a V8 130 for that matter, would cost.

How many miles on your LR4?

86k. It's my daily driver. 100 mile daily round trip commute. I'm at the gas station every 2-3 days filling up. Oil changes every 6-7k miles (that's every 3 months or so). I must admit, it's getting tiring.

CNET's review is worthy of a National Geographic TV show. https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/reviews/2020-land-rover-defender-preview/ And, an expected quote from Car and Driver: That we experienced a few (mostly electrical) glitches on these preproduction vehicles wasn't nearly as surprising as...

Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

The Defender's third row seats are useless (for adult seating), even worse than RRS optional third row..
