I vaguely remember "resetting adaptive values" with the Nanocom years ago and if I remember every light on the dash started flashing and I almost had a heart attack. Then they stopped or I turned the key on and off, not sure, but it was definately a heart attack moment. -

2005 LR3 oddities
Attached is the instrument cluster section of the manual. Your brake indicator can be telling you a number of things, pad wear, low fluid, etc. Also attaching the section for the sunroof that may help diagnose in the future. Also the section on the Anti Theft system which can keep the doors... -

Discouraging that the connector wasn't the issue, I assume you checked for any corrosion when it was unplugged. As Houm said you evidently have to have GAP or some kind of tool to program a new cluster. Attached are the relevant sections of the manual if you don't have them. Having said that... -

So do you have the orange or red suspension light on and the gauges aren't working? If not or when you turn the key on do the lights light up and then go off when it starts? Or is the cluster completely not working. -

It sounds like Deja Vu at least 5 times over and maybe a bit of ignorance on my part but, every system on these things is interconnected as far as sharing signals and sensors and if you have stuff disconnected you are going to get issues. Maybe not what you're describing but it's not like a 69... -
