Love my second HSE...but bluetooth is waring me down!
No upgrade necessary, although I have a 2008 HSE. I don't know if it ever needed an upgrade for that matter. I have since switched to an iphone, and it still works perfectly. No need to make adjustments for the LR# if you are using jetware mobile. should work just fine. -

I would recommend HD package if you are interested in seriously off-roading the vehicle. If it will rarely or never leave paved roads, it isn't necessary. Be wary, though, since many dealerships will try to convince you that they either don't offer the HD package, or they are extremely hard to... -

LR2 infotainment would be nice. The new Jag XF has the same infotainment system. I like how they arranged the navigation. Would require a major redesign of the center stack though, so expect something in 2010 or 2011. -

Answers as best as I can... AFAIK, 2009 will be just like 2008, and no interior or significant exterior cosmetic changes are planned for a while. The HD package does not make the truck more sluggish, as it adds only a locking rear differential and a full size spare. Can't add that much... -

The dealer usually doesn't install them. They subcontract out and collect a small profit. You can get the TVandNavtogo device (RGB) that connects to your front screen. Then you can see the dvd, control it, AND get a rear view camera all to boot.
