2016 HSE, wet floormats, and can't find the drain ends!

Yea sorry meant rear wheel arch liners. In both my LRs the rear arch liner was a little loose at the top or the arch. I thought they just drooped with age but then realized it was because my indy was pulling them down to access those rear drains. I posted not too long ago the technical...

2016 HSE, wet floormats, and can't find the drain ends!

yea standard issue on all LRs. The front drains are in the air intake behind the foam insulation. I would take mine to a gas station to shoot a little compressed air in it and now use one of those $30 battery powered air compressor devices. Works perfectly. Remember to open the sunroof slight...

Loosing a little bit of coolant

it sounds like the thermostat leaking. I had similar on my 2016 after replacing the cross overs, water pump...and a pinhole leak in the radiator. it's a slow leak as the valve isn't always open. not terribly hard to replace yourself if you have hose clamps.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

yea agree. my indy also said driving it will help dry it out because the exhaust heats up the underside. ive used the desiccant bags as well.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

where do you blow the compressed air from, the top or bottom? I couldn't ever get enough pressure from the top so always had to go from the bottom and blow out the top. And where do you access the rear drains to blow them out ?

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Ok so I conquered the driver side drain. Far easier than I thought. They must have changed the driver side drain position in the LR4 vs the LR3...because it's not behind the wheel arch liner like the technical bulletin states. It's in fender intake vent, just like the passenger side. You use the...

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Yea my experiment going in from the top drain on the driver side is a 100% fail. I just ended up dumping more water in the floorboard testing it. Im going to have to take off the wheel arch liner to get at it and blow up from the bottom, like you do on the passenger side.

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Yea parked under a tree that has little seeds which are perfectly round and fit exactly in the drain holes, and at an angle with front passenger sider as the low point. If im religious about getting them blown out every winter before the California winter storms roll through, im usually ok. If a...

    Drivers Side Floorboard Wet

Hey there - yea standard issue on all LRs. I constantly am cleaning out my drains before storms come through in California. So on a 2016 I would not expect the grommets or tubing has disintegrated, so it's 99% a clogged drain on the driver side front drain. If its wet on the passenger side...

    Overheating issue! LR4 2016 SCV6

Hmm. Was the cross over pipes and thermostat already replaced? Any signs of those leaking (yet)? One random thought would be if the prior owner replaced the thermostat before selling and didn't properly bleed the system. I had trouble getting the air bubbles out of mine. Silly question but do...

Any DIY tips out there on replacing a 2016 LR4 SCV6 Thermostat Housing?

It worked itself out. I let it sit for a while with the cap off and then by the time I drove it to the shop to get it looked at the heat was working. appreciate all the help.

Any DIY tips out there on replacing a 2016 LR4 SCV6 Thermostat Housing?

Still having a difficult time getting the system bled. I've tried a couple times and the coolant is rising when I increase the throttle to 2k or 3.5k (and no heat), so I think that means an airlock. It drops back down immediately when I turn the car off. I followed the instructions incorrectly...

Any DIY tips out there on replacing a 2016 LR4 SCV6 Thermostat Housing?

@txfromwi appreciate the video and info. very helpful. I just finished this job today. it wasn't hard, it was just tight space and crappy hose clips that don't lock open. Hose clamp pliers a must. I was able to get the coupling removed with some aggressive persuasion. I asked a mechanic at the...

2016 LR4: Parking Brake Fault Light (When EPB Not Engaged)

yea I had the same issues on my 2009. another lovely quirk of land rovers...but luckily it doesn't rain much in California. I always try to blow the drains out before it does.
