    Surprising oil usage

Exactly… but my experience is there is a difference between the 10 min wait reading and the morning reading. And this may be the 1 millionth time I’ve said it: “Thanks for the electronic oil level reader in lieu of a dipstick… you dipstick.”

    Surprising oil usage

The automatic suspension adjustment after shutdown is described in the workshop manual. I have found that 10 minutes is not enough time for the accurate reading. The only reading I trust is when cold, in the morning.

Yes, replace the air filters… with a paper filter!

    ARB Fridge

Maybe not fancy, but securely locked in place would be essential. Head into any cabinetry shop and source the most robust slides, with a locking mechanism or consider a fiddle solution. Every door, drawer, device in my sailboat is secured in such a simple way. If not “secured” you run the risk...

    Surprising oil usage

As previously mentioned, that is excessive oil use. Given the dirty engine compartment, how's the PCV valve??

    Disabling door sensors?

@powershift , I understand the need but from so many perspectives I can’t stand behind this particular solution… the case of safety alone. I could see a solution where a simple toggle switch is used during those times when parked and the features are not required. Such a “very visible” toggle...

    Disabling door sensors?

@mm3846 , I didn’t know that…. and in tracing the electrical circuit, that is obviously not clear as it is a module programming solution. Thanks for the tip! Of course I need to test this… just the kind of guy I am. Cheers!

    Open to Suggestions

“boot torn” was most probably an installation oversight on a new bushing…. Glad it was on warranty for you. Whenever I get any work done at my local JLR shop, it comes with a year’s parts and labour warranty…

Door seam (inner driver) rust? 2016 LR4.

I have precisely the same issue. Must have been welded on a Friday afternoon. I didn’t think robots would care. Anyways, cleaned. 2 coats of rust converter. I’ll let it cure another day before the top coats. Then the corrosion protection.

Door seam (inner driver) rust? 2016 LR4.

I’m in the same position. mind you, just surface rust on the inside the seam. I’m going to try a rust converter, then a sealant, then an inhibitor.

Fixing wind noise from pillar covers?

Well, that situation you have is just not right. Yes, my windscreen was replaced before I purchased mine… What’s worse, they would actually flap at highway speed. When I chose to replace them I learned the the original pillar covers were missing clips, the rubber fitting on a few clips, and...

I hate rust belt.....rear upper arms were a PITA

To each their own…. I like the 4 seasons. Btw, my arms don’t look like that but I do get an annual rust inhibitor spray.

as with @scapistron , I would want the actual thrown code so that I may take an appropriate action.

    Tips for cleaning radiator?

I use the pressure washer in the engine bay, on all my vehicles, quite frequently. Be mindful that those pressures can be quite large so don’t place the nozzle too close.

    OEM Waterpump vs British Atlanta/ProFlow

I think you missed the point. I am not asking for continuous engineering improvement. I am describing that an oem replacement part needs to meet qa standards.

    ARB dual compressor mounting?

question is, does it belong under the hood or somewhere near the rear of the vehicle… with the pump outside the vehicle and the attachment fittings near the tow apparatus?? Ahh, the great debates of life.

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye

@ryanjl , I always appreciated your input. I too am sorry to see you go. I don’t disagree with you on the price, and yet that crowd that likes the G-Wagon (not that I want that stigma) thinks it doesn’t cost enough…. And I’m sure the greedy at LR HQ are thinking about that. FWIW, I had an...

    OEM Waterpump vs British Atlanta/ProFlow

Actually, I’ve changed my mind. This makes me angry. I’d say mail a package with bills and pics and send it to LR HQ in US and UK and ask “*** is this?”

2015 LR4 battery maintainer for 6 month storage

agreed @ttforcefed . My wrench is a cheap and lazy replacement for that. And I would still ensure the battery is fully charged before leaving it.

2015 LR4 battery maintainer for 6 month storage

Interesting that we all have different solutions. Not only my vehicles, but certainly my sailboat lays up for a long time. And I i’ve been doing this for decades.. I do not use a maintainer. The reason is that it masks the health of the battery by providing a false interpretation if you do...
