    Precisely right. Whether towing or not, the air suspension option is worth every penny. Of course, like anything, it needs to be maintained. I have no need for a coil over conversion.

    Agreed. And to add, there is no need to “clone the ids” as there is a identification and learning process. The very reason why you can rotate the wheels and the rotation is detected. Cheers.

    I think that external mounted spare is for the birds. What they did in the LR2 is what they should have done in the LR4. Those lightweight jacks provided with the vehicle are fine in an emergency…. but I never use them at home. I just can’t trust them…. which is why I’m glad you added the jack...

    @powershift, I agree. But at the first signs of trouble, which could be something as simple as an unfamiliar sound, I’m getting it looked after. Sadly, the generator started with crazy noise and ended in catastrophic failure in less than 20 kms…. you can’t win them all.

    The owner's manual explicitly states how long the vehicle should be driven in order to maintain a full charged battery. True @ktm525 ... but that doesn't negate the fact that I have no issues with the LR4.

    This is well laid out in the workshop manual…. if you don’t reset, it will learn of the new battery characteristics over a short period of time. But why “guess”…. There should be codes.

    Coincidentally, I do not use a maintainer on any of my vehicles, thus cannot agree; The generator does keep the good battery sufficiently topped up. I only use the charger if working on the vehicle. @powershift, are you certain that after 6 hours the battery still rests at 13.5v?

    Though, not so weird really…. think of it as there are numerous electronic modules needing power. If the minimum requirement is not available, as managed by other modules, some power up, less important ones don’t. I think like @Quijote . Its always the battery. And possibly a failing generator.

    "New Battery" means nothing. Specifically, after being OFF the charger for at least 6 hours, what is the voltage on this "new" battery?

    Did you look at the workshop manual... its a big job. Frankly, I'm the kind of guy that changes fluids whenever opportunity arrises. I know nothing of your vehicle but unless the fluid and pan were recently changed...
