2015 LR4 front end sagging overnight

I just snugged mine and it was fine. I have heard they are single use though.

2015 LR4 front end sagging overnight

One of my leaks came from a loose Voss fitting, so make sure you check those with soapy water when the system is pressurized again. I ended up putting the wheel back on without the fender liner.

    2010 5.0 V8 wildly different MAF values?

Both air boxes feed into a single throttle body so both banks will be drawing from the same source.

    Rear Brake Questions

Yeah, you probably should replace the spare. TMPS sensors have a lifespan of about 10 years, so you're likely due. I ended up disabling mine using the IID Tool.

lowering suspension when not in use for weeks on end

The airbags shouldn't be that permeable - they will lose air just like your tires do, but it should take a long time unless you have a leak somewhere else (usually the VOSS fittings, or the valve blocks).

    Rear Brake Questions

Piston shouldn't really freeze up if the seal is doing its thing. Only thing I can think of is if the brake fluid wasn't flushed and got enough moisture in it to lead to internal corrosion, but not sure how likely that is. I believe the piston is steel.

    Rear Brake Questions

The brake pad sensor works by wearing off once you reach the wear limit and opening the circuit, so once it's worn through you have to get a new one to get the light to turn off.

lowering suspension when not in use for weeks on end

I don't think the static load and pressure really wear the bags. It's flexing of the bags, if the rubber is old, that could lead to cracks, but that'll happen from driving regardless of ride height. I just leave ours at normal ride height, and it's a good way to tell if you have sagging issues...

    Compressor running

You had an AMK compressor before, so no need to flash new firmware?

    Touching Base

Sorry to hear about your daughter, all the best to you and your family. Costco sells batteries at a good price, at least when I replaced ours after 6 years of ownership. It might be worth just replacing it (and going to the bigger model if you don't have it yet) so that you have no surprises...

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

It's nice that Columbia Roving would redirect you, rather than upcharge you. That's customer service IMO.

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

I did not, what I'd recommend is to call them and explain what the other shop told you, and see which gives you the most comfort that they know what they're doing.

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

I can only answer the question about Portland: there's are three shops I've gone to, Columbia Roving, Green Oval, and PDX British. Columbia Roving did the fluid flush and cooling system, but struggled with alignment. Green Oval did the timing chains, and apparently also the cooling system...

Can the metal crossovers for the SC V8 fit on the NA V8 (since you have both on hand)? I'd seen the rear ones for the SC V6, but they're longer to account for the missing cylinders.

Suspension fault back and rear sensor

The fact the rear left sensor voltage is reading as zero would point in the direction of wiring. Can you confirm the voltage reading at the sensor itself? You should see ~5v at the sensor input - if you don't then the supply wiring is suspect. You should see a non-zero value at the sensor...

It all makes sense to me: the timing marks are to help you set the right number of chain links between gears, but the crank gears are small so it take a lot of rotations to feed through the entire timing chain length. If things initially aligned with the marks the only way for it to get out of...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Did you check that two rotations of the crank allowed the HPFP lock to be inserted? The number of teeth on the gears is what counts. Good progress though!

    Project Dark Knight Rising

Ok, since the teeth count on the HPFP crank sprocket and HPFP shaft sprocket are both 20 teeth they'll stay in time. The timing marks are probably there just for initial install of the chain so that the tensioners are within spec. You should be able to check this by turning the engine 2...

    Project Dark Knight Rising

I take the 4 tooth thing back. 4 tooth per 140 rotations is 1 tooth per 35 rotations - how long is the chain, and how many teeth on the timing gear? Is the timing chain specific to the timing gear used?
  20. F

    Project Dark Knight Rising

The only way I can think of for the chain to shift is if its link count is not a multiple of the tooth count of the gear on the crankshaft. Would the tensioner system accommodated a chain with 4 more links (or 4 fewer, depending on which way the shift is going)?

    Anyone running 20" Defender wheels?

I'd stick with as small a wheel as possible to get at much sidewall as possible. Even the 19" seem too big when aired down, I'd rather have 18" if possible.

Can't seem to be able to program homelink

I had a similar problem with our garage door openers, and it ended up being one of the remotes that was just triggering randomly, not the car. Did you reset the openers to clear all programmed remotes? I would try that and only pair the LR4 and see if it persists. I believe the homelink...

Fuel Outlet Flange Recall and Other Services

As a dealer, it is their job to know. At the very least they should look up the recall instructions/parts list and not wait for the customer to provide it, after asserting that the part isn't included. They might not know, but they are too lazy to figure it out and figure they can just have...

Water leaking just started yesterday, HELP

The air intake for the cabin ventilation is just underneath the cowl, and water can drip into it if it gets between the windshield and the cowl (which can happen due to aging). Folks have made 'extensions' for the sheet metal that is intended to prevent that, to keep the water dripping down.

Fuel Outlet Flange Recall and Other Services

I see a pattern in this dealer offering to charge for things that are already included, e.g. the filter, and now the sender that's on the pump. I'd be very wary of having them touch my car. Will JLR cover the repair being done at an indy shop, and do you have a good one locally?
