Changing from Low to high and vise-versa while moving?

as long as you're in neutral and not going too fast you're fine.

Swap out extended rails for short rails

there's a strip of moulding that covers where the front part mounts. I don't know if you can get just the part that goes from the windshield up the roof bump, or if you need to buy the whole thing and then trim it: https://parts.landroverparamus.com/oem-parts/land-rover-rear-weather-strip-lr018081

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

You get a refund for the purchase price as a store credit you can then apply to your next purchase. So first purchase is out of pocket, second is out of pocket too since you haven't shipped the oil back yet, but then you have a store credit from then on.

    DIY Oil Change for LR4

If you have access to discounted shipping, the FCPEuro deal is hard to beat. It cost me under $20 to mail back the old oil and get a credit for it, so effectively beyond the first purchase, my oil changes cost me less than $20 each.

Noise coming from left rear area

One of my rear brake pads delaminated and was making a squealing noise too, not nearly as pronounced mind you.

Looking for a good trailer brake controller for my 2012 LR4

Here's how I have my redarc controller mounted: For now the control knob is taped to the steering column. It's not the best of places tbh, but it didn't require drilling holes in the dash. Current plan is to mount it to the headlight switch assembly, though I'd prefer it were more centrally...

    Showoff Your LR4

Went to Badger Lake in the Mount Hood National Forest to fish with my daughter. I need to take more time to trim the overgrowth back from the trail, I got some pretty significant pin stripes.

    steering clunk: upper U-Joint?

ball joints, tie rods, control arms, lower steering shaft are all new. Slowly moving up the steering column, next stop is inside the cab... And it does sound like it's coming from inside, not outside.

    steering clunk: upper U-Joint?

I'm chasing a clunk in the steering, it happens when going over washboard while the car is going straight - if I am steering it doesn't tend to happen, indicating something has play. The tie rods are new, the lower steering shaft is new, control arms are new. Is the upper U-Joint at the...

Looking for a good trailer brake controller for my 2012 LR4

You can do a 'stealth' install of the redarc, it fits in the cutout behind the 'shin plate' under the steering, you can then snake the wire for the remote button anywhere you like.

    C1A13-64 fault code fix

One thing I found after doing this was a small leak at the outlet of the dryer, where it connects to the hose. I replaced the hoses, but still it bubbled. I suspect the push-to-disconnect fittings have an o-ring at the bottom that dried out over the 12 years it sat there. You can get new caps...

    Lug nut quality?

Note that the cosmetic cap can deform enough that you can't get a 22mm socket on it anymore, and can spin with a larger socket. I'd recommend getting some solid lug nuts, Gorilla make some, I got Eisen brand ones from Amazon and have been happy with them. Being able to get a lug off while in...

    ARB dual compressor mounting?

A lot easier to run air hose to the rear than wire to feed the power needed for these. The fuse on mine is rated 40A.

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye

Sad to see you go Ryan, thank you for your help over the years, you leave behind a trove of useful content. I hope you'll pop in and show off your Toyota every once in a while, and give objective opinions on what you miss about the LR4 that you wish the Land Cruiser did. :D

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

not that corner, but at least you'd be able to inflate the other 3. Not idea, but better than being on bumpstops?

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

basically a quick disconnect in the air lines somewhere more accessible than the top of the springs, where you can connect a pigtail with a shraeder valve and then inflate with your tire compressor. You'll be limited by the pressure of your compressor, but you'd be able to get it off the bumpstops.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

Probably worth creating manual spring inflators so you can limp out should the system crap out on you. It's been on my list of things to do to be better prepared (though I'm not running large tires so should be able to drive on bumpstops - just don't really fancy dragging the thing over...

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

Running too big a tire can leave you stuck if your air suspension drops you to the bumpstops, regardless of whether you used lift rods or recalibrated the suspension to ride higher.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

Generally you'd get an alignment after the lift, and that would take care of it.

5 codes no crank no start 2011 LR4

Can you have someone check the battery voltage while you try to crank it over? The other codes might be from things getting wonky due to low voltage. Wheel speed sensor is totally unrelated to the timing chain. I'd guess your battery is a dud, or your battery connections are loose or corroded.

Yep, I got a 2 1/4" drop stinger and ball from U-Haul and flipped the ball around so it's a lift, works great.

LR part number for TPMS receivers? F & R ?

There's an antenna in each wheel well, as well as one for the spare, don't know how they connect to the control unit.
