LR4 Shock Longevity
Who knows what is reliable or not. I have the full front strut directly from Bilstein and one grew a crack in the rubber top cap near where the damper rod comes through. The crack is roughly 1/8" away from the damper rod gasket rings. Annoying as hell. Have temporarily fixed it with O-rings... -

I've tested a ton of this stuff.... took empty wheels to Discount Tire, borrowed a wide 305 or 325 but basically 12+" wide on info deleted - poser vehicles have no need for data LOL -

Because it doesn't fit into the fenders. Thus fire roads and trails where a subaru will also join you will be about it. Thus you could just use about any tire and not see how awesome that one is on the more rugged trails. -

Extremely unlikely. Micro market for that even though people like us think it could be cool. There is literally not much bad about the the lr3 motor. The transmission is annoying but it's also just fine. I went through a major period of being so done with the way the transmission shifts but... -

Don't need a new model to buy a white one. LR4 isn't even the best of the modern discos, the lr3 has the better engine bay for long term reliability and maintenance. -

Glad to help. To clarify, I did not swap the torx bolts to allen key/hex, I changed them to basic 6 point bolt heads. This is the lowest profile access based on the tool because you just need a box wrench, ideally ratcheting. Torx or hex female bolts require at least the bits and usually only... -

When i repaired filler tubing, the pump, lines, on the 2nd fuel tank, a floor jack was essential. i did it at the same time as the bigger suspension work and used another floor jack that was not as new as the 4 for the big job. yeah, they're like $200 each but you can just pay a shop to do... -

i splurged and got 4 floor jacks with 24" reach and 3or better ton rating. i use a small lightweight aluminum for things like raising a hub knuckle or strut bottom as sort of a third hand.
