5 Disco II 18x8 Hurricane alloy with Michelin XPC 4x4
I have since new a set of 5, Disco II, wheel model is I think "Hurricane" They are 18x8 with oldish but deep tread Michelin xpc 4x4 tires 255/55x18, the spare is an odd model but same size. Will try to get photos up Sunday. Cary, NC, make an offer, no slow or fast leaks. -
Towing too much for 2018 Disco?
A lot of that is also based on the factory tires which dramatically limit the towing capacity and safety. Get proper tires like D or E load and you'll have plenty for the added hitch weight and the massive sway 8000 lbs will push into the rear end. I towed a nearly 8000 lb loaded tandem coast...- jwest

Yes, new old stock basically. This includes the tire pressure sensors mounted inside and mounted tires, original set of 4. You could also have the temp spare never used. Goodyear HP 255/55-19 tires as from factory. Stored indoor out of sunlight etc and have maybe 500 miles. ~$1000 seems like... -

LOL. Love it but I also should've been more specific in my meaning of loose dirt or mulch. That's awesome. I'd load that into an lr3,4 or disco 5 without hesitation. -
Is a d5 a great deal right now?
The D5 I poked around in did not have 3 section split 2nd row seating. Thus, you cannot just pop out the center seat to drop a fridge into. Also, no, they did not fold flat into the floor level like the lr3/4. -

What the heck are you talking about? The driver side intake is right there, just as it should be. Of course it's an lr4 dude, why would anyone with an lr3 change out fenders, bumper, grill, etc, etc and use compo wheels? Maybe you wrote while drinking... ;) I too am curious about the... -

I find this "beater" truck stuff silly. Most people use their only rover for all the purposes and nobody is going to want to try hauling a yard of mulch inside it anyway. "animals, camping..." what kind of nasty 'tough mudder' style camping and wild boars or fresh kill deer are you people... -

Unfortunately, an 06 lr3 is only worth about $10k or less now, even $6k. I understand the thoughts you're having. I'd not put any more into it. Resale will still be about the same regardless. -

You should know that would depend entirely on the tire chosen. Stock size, not chance to rub, 34" like I have, you wouldn't be able to drive a stock lr4. So, some care will be needed in choosing a tire and brand as some like BFG run a little small which can actually help such as when choosing... -

i used the new black stuff from atlantic british i think, 2 coats, and it looks fine for a few yrs. however, a pro body shop could paint them to match and would be very sweet. i would not DIY that one as it could actually look worse. -

285/60R18 Truth or Fiction?
I used 285/60-18 nitto terra grappler as my first tire on a factory 18x8. no rubbing and it fit fine in spare space with that shield removed. No rubbing up front on stock bumper/fender liner, but it's possible the tiny difference in offset allowed this. 53 on an 8" vs your idea of 45 ET on an... -

Yeah I recall the lr3 having about 13" rear wheel range and 10.6 sounds about right for the front. -
Need hitch for 2009 RRS please help
Not sure but I know the wiring I installed was easy and was designed to plug directly into the system for trailer control and the vehicle will behave safer. Try Atlantic British for towing parts, maybe they have stuff that works but cheaper than a dealer.- jwest

that will be inferior IMO. if curt wiring doesn't plug right in behind the left rear lamp like the factory kit, i wouldn't want to use it.- jwest
