I believe that's correct; that HD pack had the two-speed, which is the giveaway when shopping pics. If it has the right hand switch for the transfer case, it's HD with locker and spare. But please correct me if that's wrong. That's how I was shopping them previously based on my understanding of...
Coincidentally, I can spot three HDs on my local CL as we speak:

While I totally understand @ktm525 go light, go fast philosophy and have practiced it myself, it's not always the way that works for others, families with kids etc. At least that's my current excuse. @avslash my truck is my daily, so I've tried to design it in a way that allows for "adventure...
I'm not either, but according to the site and directions you linked to, they say this about blue wire 87a "Blue cable (87a) second output can be used with a multifuctional relay. " so it reads as though it doesn't need connection.
When and if my '12 HD bites it, I'll definitely be looking for a '16 HD to mod-swap onto. But the V8 is just soooo nice compared to the SCV6, to me at least.
Probably the best way to go if permanently mounting a second battery. For various reasons I was satisfied with a portable aux box I made myself, and installed the DC-DC and solar permanently into the truck. My disadvantage is that all the hardwired truck accessories still are run of the main...
That's the thing about DC-DC chargers, they isolate the house battery from the main, so your aux (house) could be different size, chemistry, etc. I'm running a WaganTech 25 amp DC charger off the truck to a LiFPo4 100ah battery. Easy peasy.
Yes. Lucky8 is where I got mine. Support them. And don't forget the lubelocker gasket from Summit. Don't use the paper crap the kit comes with. No leaks. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lub-llt-f6r80

After. Also, which of the two plugs on the metal pan is the drain? There's a big plug and a smaller one. I meant to ask and don't recall which is which.
Well I think we need to go back and analyze some of your assumptions. You mentioned driving off-road to Central America. Is this your real trip or is this armchair overlanding? Because if it’s real, then ANY truck would need to have thorough maintenance done. People also need to divorce...
I’ve had a 5th gen 4Runner Trail prior to my LR. I say this is all seriousness. I will do whatever I can to avoid another 4Runner. Or at least 5th Gens. Yes their V6 is reliable. But it’s anemic. Then you see those Yota clowns throw another 1,500 pounds of overlander armor on it. Plus bigger...
Our trucks are extremely capable tow rigs so long as the nut behind the wheel is capable. Towing is a bit of an art form. I for one wouldn’t want my first at-bat to be 1,600 miles of dedication. Towing a trailer brings with it a ton of required situational awareness like if I pull in here, how...
I agree that doesn’t look too bad. I too owned a Chicago car for a while. I did spend at the mechanic for various seized bits and bobbles. The worst being a seized caliper piston. But nothing that can’t be fixed.
The dome light trick works. I learned the opposite way. When I bought my truck, someone had already enabled hunting mode. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why the lights never worked. Eventually I found the trick to reenable.
On a side note, sometimes the simplest solution works best...
Hey @djkaosone @avslash can you guys confirm the CCF BMS disable and non-BMS groundstrap have been running smoothly? I just installed my dc-dc and would love it if I knew my lithium battery was getting full charge
Ha now I see this after spending too much time routing the ignition trigger for my dc-dc charger. Had I been able to make my alternator dumb, I guess I wouldn’t have needed the trigger wire from F60! Now I want to also get my Ccf unlocked. Can someone confirm the menu option to change?
With the release of the weboost overland package, I’m starting to consider one. Anybody have one set up on their roof? Interested in seeing your setups and whether you hardwired in and how you mounted.
Curious what this means? You're not having something attached to the usb port on the tool while it's plugged into the OBD are you? I don't think that's how that works. You also should ONLY use the cable that came with the GAP tool for computer setup, registration etc. Now, you didn't mention it...
Hi. The OP dm’d me. OP, I have an LR4. You need a gap tool. Spend the money. Ignore the shop. It’s very simple in Gap. You can from there disable tpms and the spare wheel tpms. No hardware removal needed.
Happy New Year all!
For a few weeks I’ve been trying to pinpoint a noise coming from rear drivers side. I’m definitely not a suspension expert but I feel like that may be the area.
What I’m getting is sort of a “pop” in slow to moderate speed corners around town when the body gets a little...
