    Upgrade or keep 2010 V8?

This has been my predicament with my 250miles ‘07 LR3. There are simply no decent replacements for performance, comfort, volume etc….. except for the LR4. There are two LR3s, one LR4 and several Range Rovers in the extended family. ALL see time off road. I’m fairly up on my failure modes and...

    Upgrade or keep 2010 V8?

StockOEM front and rear coolant crossover pipes (plastic) should be replaced with metal units. There were some cam chain tensioner issues IIRC as well.

    Upgrade or keep 2010 V8?

I just went through the same mental math with my 250K miles '07 LR3. The 6 cylinder engines in the later LR4s are not as rugged or reliable as the V8 (10-13). THe V8s are good for 300K miles. If you're hell-bent on a later LR4, try and find one that has had the engine repairs (cooling, guides...

Liftgate (upper tailgate) does not fully latch

You can adjust the Hatch Strikers on each vertical side of the hatch- they look like black plastic wedges- one on each side. Did you try cleaning the contact center metal latch contact points and spraying them with dry lube?

Hands down, the LR3- I've got 240K on mine. The V8 is awesome and has fewer big issues that the V6

ABS Kicks on when turning left under braking

Yeah, I’ve experienced noise from failing bearings in a number of vehicles. Not this time. There was excessive play at the tread/wheel perimeter with the rear end on a lift. Also replaced the rear suspension wear bits while we were in there.

ABS Kicks on when turning left under braking

Agreed with above. I chased this on an off for the better part of a year....right after I switched to a new tire. It drove me nuts to the point that I swapped wheels/tires and had the issue immediately/still. Traced it to a bad rear wheel bearing. Replaced both side$ - 230K miles on a 2007 HSE

Leaving the hood / bonnet open overnight for rats.

Apparently peppermint oil does the trick. My mother parks her '05 outside, near Sacramento, and has had the chewed harness issue. Her mechanic suggested soaking cotton balls in peppermint oil, wrapping those loosely in aluminum foil and placing them in the engine compartment. We also installed...

    Electronic Brake Issues

Abu idea as to your charging system and battery status? I mention this because LR3s are notorious for throwing fits and spewing hatred when there's a parasitic electrical load and a poor charging system or battery.

Rear turn signal bulb repeatedly faults

Make sure you're using the correct bulb and that it's installed correctly. Wrong bulb or wrong installation can/will cause repeated problems. You can clean the contacts off, in the bulb socket, with some vinegar on a cotton swab. Then use some dielectric grease. I went through the same BS and...

I pulled the resistor and saw some sign of over heating on one of the blade slots in the plastic housing

2007 LR3 - Front AC blower not blowing

Hi all.....I'm stumped. Front AC blower, the one under and in front of the glove compartments has stopped working. Iv'e just replaced the blower with a new unit from Atlantic British. The AC/Heater control panel will activate the rear blower just fine. All fuses are intact, all relays appear to...

    LR3 overheating

Agree with the air bubble issue... I ended up replacing a broken T-connector in the cooling system and repacking some coolant. Had an immediate overheating situation- caused by an air bubble. My solution was to over-pressurize the coolant reservoir with a compressed air line and then release...

Did you check all of the wiring below the front passenger seat footwell carpeting? Shorts are very common.

07 LR3 seems to be braking while accelerating

What condition are your tires in? Are they all the same tread depth? I suspect, as others have mentioned, that the ABS pulsing is the grinding noise. You'll hear this noise when the DSC fires or the HDC is on. I'd check every part of the suspension and drive train from the tires up.

    Passenger Fusebox problems.

Have you checked the wires under the passenger side foot well....under the carpeting? This is a common place for shorts to happen and for water leakage to compound the problem.
