Hummer EV
I haven’t looked into them much. The chatter I’ve heard sounds good, but there seem to be questions if they’ll make it to market? Honestly I am not a fan of EV’s, I chimed in on this thread because it started about the same time ExPo had a post on the Hummer EV and the email caught my attention. -

Rigid spring installation vs air struts
Keep the EAS. I replaced my original front struts at 180k with used ones due to a budget crunch at the time, rears are still original at 235k. 2020 defender off road pack - rear locker
That’s nice you can import 10 years sooner than the states. My statement was a little hyperbolic, but not too much. There was a decent looking 110 locally that was $32k, no idea what motor. There are plenty of examples on KSL, the Salt Lake City classifieds, that are $100-$200k all refurbished.- m_lars

18’s with 265/65/18. Traction control engaging on highway corners.
I run 265/70/18 Cooper S/T Maxx on my LR3 and have no issues like you do. I would be suspect of wheel bearings given your description of the problem. If the bearing is loose it can cause enough deflection of the ABS ring to make the vehicle think it’s lost traction. -

Those are belly button vehicles, everyone’s got one. There are literally more raptors around me than regular f-150s. Wranglers? 3 in every parking lot. I have no doubt the Defender will be supported very well by the aftermarket. When that happens you’ll get ARB lockers front and rear. However...- m_lars

Given how hard/nearly impossible it is to add a factory locker to the LR3 I can’t imagine they made it any easier on the new defender. It certainly wouldn’t be practical.- m_lars

That would make sense. Standards must have changed in that regard. Back when I was a landscaper the duramax trucks we had were 16” wheels, but those were early 2000’s trucks.- m_lars

I also get your point, they should offer a more offroadable wheel size on all engine types, but a brake change is not modding the hell out of it. Broader appeal is the reason for offering the choice in wheels. Honestly it’s all a moot point when they do offer an 18” wheel. Maybe you can’t get that in the package you want, but the option is there and you can likely mod your package to the smaller brakes. My point about the Toyota lift is...- m_lars

If you read up on anyone who has talked to the engineers about the Defender, it’s clear that they did intend for this to be an off road vehicle. They clearly wanted the braking performance to be there from the factory. I don’t see any reason that the smaller brakes won’t fit, just like the LR3...- m_lars
