Buying this 2015 LR4 Lux Pkg w/ HD Pkg, but am freaking out about the RUST! Should I walk?

FWIW, that looks very similar (rust) to the 2015 LUX/HD Pkg we bought back in late 2019. Not an issue....the worst part of ours are all of the fasteners on the running boards!

Help! My LR4 Needs a New Engine & I Need Your Input

My personal opinion, if you like the car/truck, and want to keep it, then I think regardless of value it's always better to fix it. True, you have a $20+13K truck, with a $20-30K engine. But then buying a new car, you have tremendous depreciation, and buying a used car you run the risk of...

    Crossover pipe work

So as I stated, my wife has a 2016, so same truck as you, and just for PM I decided to replace the front and rear cross pipes, Waterpump, Therm, Oil Cooler seals (from WP), Supercharger Snout coupler, drain/refill SC oil, and replace EVERY hose in the engine compartment, as well as removing the...

    Crossover pipe work

New/updated factory front crossover pipe for the SCV6 is still "plastic" but much thicker, and no seam. I could easily slip my finger in the original pipe, but not the newer pipe...BIG difference/improvement. IF the guy did a good job on rear, no reason not to use him for the front....There...

    Crossover pipe work

Having done this, any competent mechanic can do front/rear pipes, WP, Therm etc etc, and I am sure there are good tech's that have never touched a LR that would do a better job then some of the dealer techs (from what I have personally experienced at a MB dealer when doing work on our E320 years...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I ended up dumping all of my old Craftsman torque wrenches when I started having problems with the handle torque adjustment on two of them and purchased 3 CDI to cover 6-250lbs, then I bought a Precision Instruments that I use specifically for M8 around 18lbs. I read a lot of excellent reviews...

    Coolant Temp Questions

IIRC, on a trip from SC to MA, I ran between 205-226 cruising mostly around 219. My L322 runs a steady 226.4.

    Coolant Temp Questions

Yeah, I knew blocks were the same less 2, for some odd reason I thought I read where they made the 2014-16 trucks run a bit hotter for emissions/efficiency. tim

Does this apply to the SCV6 as well?

    Coolant Temp Questions

So let me better explain this. I did understand that you were asking for Sensor 1/2 info, but I also thought you might be interested in what others were running as "normal" temps. Having seen several threads in the past, and actually posted my experiences, I thought you might find them overall...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

So I actually ordered Gearwrench Torx bits that fit in a box wrench. Made it very easy to access remove/install the Torx bolts under the front and rear frame. Also able to use various length ratcheting flex head wrenches...

    Coolant Temp Questions

2015 SCV6, 205-226F, mostly stays around 219. But I think the 2014-16 (SCV6) run with a hotter therm. Gauge will not move until I hit 237.

Cars and Bids LR4 Purchase & More

FWIW, At around 80K, I replaced EVERY coolant related part (except Radiator, but I did pull it to clean and replace the seal underneath) in the engine compartment with OE LR in my wife's 2015, as I wanted it perfect. The new upgraded Front Pipe (for the SCV6) is substantially stronger/beefier...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

Finished tonight. Got 5.3L out, almost 6L back in. Edit: I put a level on the door, just under the black window moulding to ensure the truck was level on jack stands, and using a floor jack for minor adjustments. Final fluid check (drips) at 40-42C. Basically same process that I use on the L322...

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

IMHO, My L322 has much better hwy cruising comfort. I'll drive it on a trip (long) anyday over the LR4. That's not to say the LR4 is not an amazing/incredible driving truck, and one of the best looking SUV's out there, and with it's classic looks, it will remain. I just think the L322 has a...

    Rear Seat Back Recline Adjustment

Well, maybe if I get bored I'll take the seat apart to see if I can correct it. I was stupid not to get this fixed when truck was under warranty, but at the time, I just installed the dog barrier, and I thought it was just crooked and not the seat.

    Rear Seat Back Recline Adjustment

Yes, but that does not allow for recline angle adjustments.

    Rear Seat Back Recline Adjustment

Thanks. That’s odd, as this is a “Lux” version and I have no levers in the area that you suggest, and as you say, exactly where you would expect the manual lever to be.

    Rear Seat Back Recline Adjustment

Could you please be more specific? The only lever I see is underneath the seat, and used to lift the seat for 3rd row access.
