Promised to update you guys...
Independent shop says dealer is wrong, it's definitely not rods. They also say it's not the typical timing chain noise they hear from the 5.0's. They think maybe a timing chain guide bolt is broken. They say if it's just that and the guides, maybe $1200. If they...
Out of CPO in August, figures!
Have appt with independent LR guy in early Jan. Pray for us.
It really does NOT sound like a rod to me and there is no affect on performance. It sounds like a bad bearing in the top end back by the firewall that increases in bad soundingness with rpm.
I'm not sure I understand either but I got the "merry christmas, I would get rid of this car, it'll be $15k for a remanufactured engine plus install" They have narrowed it down to " something internal to the engone"
Damn shame. We really like this rover. Its CPO with good history, has 98k, had...
I tried but the sound didn't come out so good and I had no one to rev the engine where it really makes the noise.
It's at the dealer now, they got it to make the noise and the tone of the rep was not good.
They are going to run it without belts on Monday to see if they can pin down the noise...
Hi folks, Our 2013 LR4 at about 100k miles is making a funny grinding/whining noise from the back of the engine on revving and acceleration (load does not seem to change it).
You can hear it when you drive normally and accelerate at any speed. If you open the hood and pull off the plastic cover...
Philly guy here too. I hear you.
OP, so suspension in normal mode in those pics? Give us a detailed access height report when you can! Turn it lock to lock. I use it all the time in parking garages, etc.
Looks awesome!
So while I was investigating why BOTH low beams went out at the same time*** on the wife's '13 LR4 I figured out that only one side of the hood actually latches (driver side fine, passenger won't lock, even pressing mechanism down with a screwdriver).
I did a search for this and only things...
Yep, I was just confirming that my 2013 doesnt seem to have the issue despite some reports on this board.
The Gladiator is sweet. Probably wont be reliable, but that's what leases are for.
Also a Jeep guy from CJ5 to new Gladiator here. We've had our 2013 HSE for 4 years now and we just committed to keeping the truck past 100k which we have never done with anything before.
We got through the water pump and LCA bushings and theres no timing chain noise. We upped the oil change...
I have to add to this thread since I used it to make a decision.
Wife has a 2013 LR4 with 91k still in CPO but "rubber is not covered": what BS.
Dealer wanted $1800 (WTF?) for Front control arms and $900 for rear brakes: $2700 for those math challenged members.
Went to Atlantic British, got all...
I'm looking at a set of wheels on CL for my 2013 LR4 HSE. I have 255/55/19s.
They have RRS tires on them in 235/65/19. My tires are fine and I really just want the rims, but the tires would be a bonus. I know they are taller and narrower (31x9.5 vs 30x10). I'm wondering if they would rub at...
