    Lug Nuts Will Not Budge

I just had this happen to one of mine at 105k so I replaced them all with the same OEM lugs. They must have gotten them from the same place as those damn Ford ones.

Poor idle control with AC on

So you think it's an electronic or throttle body issue? Maybe an electrical issue if the AC is drawing a lot of amps? Alternator? The battery is also getting old and I know an old battery in a landy causes mystical and bizarre issues sometimes.

Poor idle control with AC on

Boy, I was hoping to just get back there behind it but I can see how that is probably much easier. Thank you.

Poor idle control with AC on

It's a rats nest behind the intake manifold. I can see the vacuum lines but not manipulate them even when I unbolt the wiring harness. Does anyone know of a tutorial for moving it? Maybe as part of the rear crossover replacement?

Poor idle control with AC on

Thank you for that tip, no wonder I couldn't find it in the front. Any clue if these two empty connectors on the front are part of the problem? Should these be like this?

Poor idle control with AC on

Hi, all, I've had increasingly poor idle control when the AC is on over the last year. With AC off the engine purrs at 800rpm but with it on, and especially at a stop, the engine waxes and wanes between 1100 and 900 like a constant thrumming at about 30-45 times per minute. There is also a...

    LR4 Injector Replacement

There is also a Samcrac video on a RRS, I believe, where he eventually used a jack and got them out much easier. Edit: I think he connected the slide removal tool to an engine hoist chain. Cave man type stuff, but it worked.

    Hyundai just built a LR4

Yeesh, that is one ugly rear end. I think the 130 looks more like the LR4 than this. Both need the heightening at the back though...

    LR4 5.0L overheating at idle

I like this idea. I had an old Jeep with a similar issue. You only run into problems at idle according to your post. If you simply rev the engine does the temp go down?

LR4 is getting hot inside with breathable car cover on

We jacked up the top window tint on our last two LR4s. They let too much light in.

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

I'm just tossing out there that the Powerstop Eurostop pads and rotors from FCP I put on semi recently are a nightmare for noise and dust. Great for braking the 6000lb beast but would not recommend them for the silver wheels.

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

I also have a Gladiator. Only thing similar is the view out the window and driver position. It's noisier, steering stinks, and has no where near the power but I love it for what it is. The stereo is 1000 time better I can tell you that.

    becoming collectible

Well, after everyone thought JLR was actually killing the LR name a few days ago I thought values would definitely go up!

LR4 - Is there an equivalent in ride/driving experience?

This sums up why we haven't replaced my wife's LR4. It's somewhat of a third vehicle now but still used for all kinds of kid hauling a road trips, esp. road trips, they are the best. The new Defender is great, my parents bought one, but it's just not the same view out the front window. Honestly...

Compomotive 18” Wheel; Quality Control Issue

Its worth looking around for a "wheel guy." I found a small shop in a random industrial park where this guy works magic on wheels for darn good prices. Had our original wheels back to better than new for $100US per wheel. These are dirty but you get the idea. So much corrosion in the pockets...

Screeching sound in front of car after first turned off

Does it happen every single time? Can you post a video? Been reading this board for a while and had tow LR4's and never heard any "powering down" sound. You mean like something that spins coming to a stop?

2013 to 2014 Face Lift Headlight Install

Our 2013 does seem to burn through bulbs. I made the mistake of replacing both of our LR4 bulbs at the same time and guess what? That means they burn out around the same time and you can end up with no lights. Guess how my wife found out? Now I wait a few months and replace the other one. I...

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

You didn't really tell us how much stuff we are talking about but even Uhauls 6x9 trailer full of 2500# of stuff should be no problem. You should price it but I'll bet Uhaul is your cheapest option. Agree you will most likely have to flip a bar around to raise the hitch and that if you have the...

    Windshield wind noise.

My brand new Tesla Y had an issue like this where it would whistle on occasion at certain speed and I tracked it down to where the body meets the windshield at the bottom passenger corner in a notoriously Tesla minor fit and finish issue. It was easily remedied by a dab of RTV that no one would...

    Rough Wipers

Very hard to tell from video if dry wiper noise or mechanical unhappiness. Did you try rainX? Not only makes you use the wipers less in general but makes the surface smoother for the blade.

When is it time to say goodbye?

The good news about how values on LR4's have really plummeted during the after COVID bubble burst is it makes it much easier to rationalize keeping it as a 3rd car. Ours is only worth $12-13k now? Fine. It's worth way more than that to me to keep it and use it for road trips, etc. If you can...

It's time for a rear cross-over pipe talk. What to do about the backorder?

This whole thread is making me nervous I didn't do mine when I had the chance. 2013 103k miles but a northeast car that sees less than 10k miles a year. fingers crossed. How has the aftermarket not solved this problem? I'll bet AB is working on something as we speak.

    Chip in windshield

If I were you I would try to fix it first. There is little to lose vs a new windshield. I live in a winter area and even then almost never use the windshield heat (garage) so if it died on mine I wouldn't be too put out. Up to you on that end. I doubt the repair epoxy will affect the grid...

advice for newbe RE timing chain on older rovers

Agree. It seems we frequently hear people having a loose chain and having to fix it at relatively great expense but more frequently hear the no-warning-coolant-leak-blow-the-engine for an even more expensive engine replacement. (In my unscientific survey on this board it only seems to happen to...

    My 2012 LR4 with 52,000 miles!

I could not agree more. I'm in Philly and there are 2 indy Land Rover shops around here. Must be some in Jersey. Anyone can change the oil and thats the most important thing with these engines. Do it more frequently than you think, tons of threads here. Also, change the tranny fluid soon if...
