Transmission taking too long to shift

Good call on the tape. For us novices it really helps to write stuff down. When I was doing the valve covers on my project I wrote on the valve cover in sharpie.

    2012 LR4 Electrical power loss

Check your grounds. Look in the battery box for evidence of mice.

Might be worth opting for the larger oil cooler.

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

From memory, a rebuilt unit is 4000.

Last I looked a salvage yard transmission is around a thousand bucks.

The soccer Mom's in my town have moved on to defenders. They're all over the grocery store parking lots.

Tahoe has roughly the same dimensions as a 110 and a tighter turning circle. Unlike the GX it can be equipped with an air suspension.

Only a barbarian would ride around on something as crude as a metal spring.

Someone in town has a white gx550, I can't wait to buy it in 8 years.

Before I start putting the bumper and wheel well liners in what else should I do at this disassembled state? Replace the front valve block?

Flywheel and starter can really only go in one way each. I noticed considerable overlap between the starter and the flywheel on the first motor. Didn't think it was right, but thought once the starter was energized once it might retract a bit more. Forgot to address it with the second motor...

Think I found the source of the noise, starter gear is clashing with the flywheel. A couple of washers might be a short term fix. Thinking I'll get some gasket material and hope it is thick enough.

It started, on the first try too. Doesn't sound great though. I'm pretty sure it is just that the transmission doesn't have enough fluid in it. I only took a couple liters before it started spilling out, which is not enough given that I had the transmission out for service. After running...

I've caught back up to where I was and then some. Before I bolt the front prop shaft back in thought I'd ask if there's supposed to be a heat shield between the exhaust and transmission up in there like there is on the passenger side. I've looked through my bin of heat shields and nothing...

Third head gasket job- why are they failing?

Just want to reiterate that the best long term solution is going to be a long block. That said the engineer in me couldn't let the Rolls-Royce adhesive thing go. Hylomar makes a number of non-setting jointing compounds. They are blue, from a UK company, and one even carries Rolls-Royce...

As I continued on to other things wiring related I'm annoyed and stumped. The only connector in the vicinity of the oil pump solenoid is purple and white/green. My copy of the manual says purple and white/gray. The wiring leads towards the back bottom and joins up with the oil level sensor...
