Old motor is in the shipping crate, new motor is on the stand. Those flywheel bolts were absolutely bathed in red loctite, big 1/2" impact really had to work. I went 9 for 10 though. One of them rounded over and I tried every trick short of welding a nut on. I resorted to just gently...

Do durable side wall tires exist for the LR4?

Tire is toast. If off roading you should have a full size spare in the back or on a tire carrier.

Yeah, long block doesn't include valve covers. Part of why I waited to order parts until it arrived. Took some digging, but found the part number for the flex plate to crank bolts, LR096833. Any know what the torque converter bolts part number is?

It has arrived. Time to order just about every sensor I can. Last thing I want to do is have to remove the supercharger to replace something like the knock sensor. Also started pulling up torque specs and am surprised at some of them. Exhaust manifold, 18Nm. Torque converter, 63Nm.

    ARB Fridge

UHMW ain't cheap. If you go with the 1/2" plywood you'll probably want to use T-nuts. 1/2" isn't going to have much holding power with a screw.

Thoughts on making a dipstick from some AN fittings, piece of tubing from McMaster, and a universal dorman stick? Banjo bolt adapter in place of the drain plug, to a 5/16 tubing adapter. Either stainless or aluminum tubing run up with the high pressure fuel line. Probably around $90 in parts...

    Disabling door sensors?

If you leave your gap tool plugged in it'll display the voltage in the center display. Watch it next time you're out, you should be able to see when it is charging.

Quick update. Lower control arms are rebuilt. Did some rust mitigation on some welds in the engine bay. New motor mounts are in. Transmission is back in after getting seals replaced. Motor will be here at some point next week. I had some random bracket on the ground and spent a bit...

Zip kit and fluid change, now won't go past 5th

I was getting hard shifts between 1 and 2 near 100k miles. Changed pan and fluid and nothing changed. Reset the transmission adaptations and it was back to being super smooth. My guess is that the zip kit was unnecessary and just resetting the transmission adaptions would have improved things.

Lower control arms are off and got a vice grip rebuild while I wait for ball joints and bushings. Driver's side boot was torn. What is this blocked off fitting on the back of the intake manifold? I know this was developed during pretty lean times at JLR, but this makes no sense to me...
