    Glovebox Question....

Works well to keep a tire pressure gauge from rattling around, too!

Another Front Crossover - Right on Schedule !

That should have a greater effect on a port-injected engine. But on motors like the AJ, the injectors shoot the gasoline directly into the cylinder, so the valves aren't being washed by whatever detergents / solvents are in or added to the gas.

IID GAP as general code reader

It should do both code reading and the live values without needing to be activated on a specific vin.

    Locking Fuel Door

Not installed on NAS LR4s. In some other markets, I believe there was an actuator installed - part # FSG500030

Buying Used LR4 versus Mercedes G550

I've always loved the way those cars look, never loved (the majority) of the people who drive them. (Same thing with the Dodge Challenger, actually).

    Summer Tire (on-road/offroad) shopping

    I'm curious -- what'd it run ?

    Backup camera format and resolution?

Were you meaning to link to some product? Can't quite tell if you're referring to the LR4 built-in camera or one of those mirror LCDs.

    Dash Cams?

Most mount to the side or underneath the mirror. There's a few posts about stealing power from +12V switched wires either from the overhead light or the humidity sensor if you do some searching...

    Dash Cams?

I think that's the auto high beam cameras.

    Dash Cams?

I looked at the fitcamX and reviews are pretty mixed. Some reddit people did a teardown and concluded it's basically a cheap camera you can get from AliExpress inside a custom housing. No idea how true that is, but that's the info out there. From most of the comparison sites, it looks like a...

Using coolant dye to diagnose leak

Weird.... the regular Land Rover coolant seems to fluoresce on its own I thought ?

Limp mode. Can't get above 4,000 RPM

That's weird behavior. Does it do this in Park/Neutral as well as when driving ? If you have the GAP tool, perhaps try logging pedal position % vs. throttle opening ?

Timing Chain Check with GAP IID

I vaguely recall seeing something like this on an Audi forum. You're capturing the duty cycle, I'm guessing for some solenoid that puts oil pressure into the mechanism that moves the cam's position relative to the crank. Just thinking out loud here, but wouldn't you want to capture the actual...

    2016 LR4 Transmission Fault

Curious -- why would 4 wheeling in auto be a problem? Trans would just stay in 1st the majority of the time ?

Strange errors occurring randomly 2012 LR4 HSE

The car will generally never get the battery to 100% estimated state of charge. There is another measuring block you can see in IIDTool called something like "Target State of Charge" - I don't know exactly what the algorithm does, but it does appear to be temperature dependent (IE in cold...

Strange errors occurring randomly 2012 LR4 HSE

These cars are surprisingly sensitive to weakly charged batteries, but don't do a great job keeping them charged as part of the fuel economy optimization. When you buy a battery there's always some question as to its state of charge sitting on the shelf. I'd charge the battery all the way too...

    C1D21-05 (6C) fault

TPMS sensors on these cars are finicky -- I cloned a second set of sensors for winter tires from my factory wheels to a set of HUF Intellisense and it generally recognizes them, but not if I swap one of the wheels to the spare tire location without running them on the car in the previous...

    Aluminum crossovers exist now! (maybe)

Ha, I actually started this thread! Anyway, I've been using the metal front crossover/y-pipe for ~ 3 years now with no problem. I don't know if my mechanic used the o-rings that came with the product or if he substituted OEM. If I ever need to replace the rear again, I'll see what happens...

    Replacing spare tire jack?

Randomly came across this and wondering if it would be worthwhile if I'm getting a bottle jack. https://www.tuffant.com/product-page/bottle-jack-chassis-adapter

LR4 air conditioning blows hot air

The advantage of having it filled professionally is that they'll evacuate the system first, which removes moisture and makes sure the correct amount of PAG oil is in there. That said, you probably won't hurt anything if you try to do a DIY recharge. I'd be sure to avoid buying the can of...
