Put in a couple more hours today. Headliner won again. We.did However get all the seats out of the LR3. Really not as bad as I thought it would be. Pretty sure the navigation dvd player is a goner. So I will likely need to add that to the replace list. Tomorrow the console and rear load space...
We dug into the headliner, few little tricky areas but common sense will get you across the finish line on getting it pulled loose. Now getting it out of the damn truck is another thing entirely. Also discovered that the passenger side seat is dead as dead gets. Hopefully I can sort that out. So...
Always had fantastic luck with them. I will admit however to being very good friends with them. Sorry you had a bad experience though.
On the paint since it is simple rattle can work. As long as it is a calm day the flash off time of the Rustoleum is like 15 min you could probably get away...
We finished it off today and removed the masking. Real happy with how it turned out. It is really awesome working with her to repair and build the truck. Tomorrow I think we are going to tape up a list on the garage wall like I did for the Red Clay Rally prep. Then we can layout what we need to...
So here is a bit that I had been waiting for since Christmas. My dad had ordered me a set of seat covers from www.knightsbridgeoverland.com as a gift since the front seats were pretty tired looking and the armrests looked like a Honey Badger had made sweet sweet love to them.
They are and...
I have absolutely been loving it. She is learning a ton and I have been enjoying teaching her. We have been putting in an hour or two each day working. We could get more done but with school, work and home projects time to head over and work on the LR3 is somewhat limited.
I think these sliders will get the job done how about you?
Proud Rhino LR3 full coverage sliders. Solid and extremely well built. Also the boxes in the corner are a pair of dunlop air struts from the gent's at Lucky8.
So my daughter has been helping out with the work on the LR3 so I have...
As some may have seen in my build thread I have some water ingress issues. Aside from the drain lines on for the sunroof what else should I be looking at for possible issues? Especially while the headliner is out and access is good.
I have contemplated just sealing the sunroof permanently but...
Sunroof and a pillars are my guess. It was stored and not checked on for a couple months that is the outcome. The pillars will be getting a proper sealing job and I have new roof drains but I may just make it a permanently closed sunroof
As for the 35's I have already done 33's so it's good...
after much scrubbing we were happy with how the leather looked. So we put the dehumidifier back inside and called it a day. We came back the next day and sprayed the carpets and undersides of the seats down with a vinegar water mixture to kill any lurking mold. Waited a bit and sprayed it again...
I have the TerraFirma front skid and transfer case skid. It is one extremely long piece of 1/4 aluminium plate once bolted together.
I might be exaggerating the weight a bit but I use floor jacks to lift and hold it in place
That to, but not having to drop that 100 lbs of skid plate and lifting it back in place would be so worth it to me. It makes a 20 minute job a 1.5 hour job
With the LR3 in the garage and out of the elements we left the doors open for the night to let it air out. Bad call it still stank and now so did the whole garage. With it seeming dry enough to work on we took stock of what the interior looked like....
It was a bit rough in there so we...
Once it was at the house what followed was a couple days of shop vac work pulling a ton of water from the floors, a dehumidifier running around the clock and a box fan. Pulled the battery and ran the NOCO charger on it to make sure it was happy.
On day 3 things were looking pretty dry but...
The HD CV's performed flawlessly for the LR4 on 35's and the RRS on 33's during the Red Clay Rally. Both of those trucks have rear lockers.
Mine got by on happy thoughts and dreams with the stock 165k mile cv's and 33's. When it got sketchy I just pulled winch line though as to not risk it.
