    New Range Rover?

You have to at least explain your opinion on the subject. My opinion was based on 100s of hours watching a V6 J**P out-crawl a V8 J**P in Moab, simply because the V8 was spinning way too much. Granted, the new RR will have the LR 4x4 system, which will utilize the ABS to limit wheel spin, but...

anyone running dedicated snow tires, if so which ones?

Depending on the storm patterns, we often have tons of snow here in Utah and I have always been running stock tires (Goodyear) with no problems. We don't get the ice though that the east coast does so I can only reference snow drive-ability. The biggest advantage with driving a LR in the snow is...

Newbie ? Difference between HSE and SE

I think you can also "opt" for the rear seat audio controls, at least you can on other LR SE configurations.

    New Range Rover?

I tell you what, I would try it out in Moab! It would probably be too much power for most off-roading situations; well, maybe not too much power but it would take a while to adjust your off-road driving patterns with that much power and torque available.

    Hi, i'm new

I too like my SLS for the same reasons that discomike stated. There is one caveat however, having SLS on a Discovery makes it so that you cannot use a weight distribution hitch (i.e., used to tow a travel trailer). This is a response from LR corporate on the topic:

    Hey There!

I have the rear seats and actually use them quite often (I too have 2 kids). The rear seats are great when a friend or cousin rides along. Also, those rear seats have the best view of the flip down DVD player I had installed.

    LR3 Owner's Thoughts so Far...

That is a great review - Thanks Nomad! It makes me want to take an LR3 to Moab for some "testing"... :)

    Ski Rack

I already have a roof rack (ie, full rack, like Safety Devices or NWP). I am planning on buying the Thule 726 (Deluxe Pull Top 6pr Ski Carrier). This should mount directly onto my roof rack bars without any additional crossbars, etc. I say should, but since I haven't tried it yet I don't know...

    LR3/Disco III

From the AP newswire today: Motor Trend just voted the LR3 "Motor Trend Magazine's 2005 SUV of the Year".

    LR3 Off The Road

You guys are going to have to stop posting "positive" comments about the LR3 - I am going to have to go out and buy one just to try it out. It is sad that I have to always have "the next best thing" - I am the type of personality that is considered an early adopter. I try out anything that is...

    Question for all... Server?

I am in agreement with Sergei - it would probably cost more to host on a dedicated server. Everything seems to be working fine for me.

has anyone tried a headlight swap?

It would probably be kind of difficult, since the light housing is quite a different shape. The 03-04 light housing has a half-circle that would get in the way.

    Cup Holders

I am not into drinking anything either when I am driving. I will use the cup holders most often to hold my cell phone, or put a drink in at a fast food or drive-thru restaurant (we frequent those types of places quite often since I have little kids). As for the size of the screw-on holder...

    Oct 2-3, 9-10th trips offering :)

Blue Martini is J2EE and JSP (I have also done a little bit with Struts) - but I have been doing Java now for 6'ish years and am looking to get more into IT management. 4 people reporting to me, but I am still the senior/lead developer. Taking my time, being picky about where I go next. What is...

    Cup Holders

You know, I really liked those particular cup holders on my 2000 Discovery. Too bad my 2004 doesn't have those particular cup holders any more. I drove a new Range Rover this morning at the dealership - now those are some cool cupholder configurations!

    LR3/Disco III

I was at my local dealer's centre this morning. They have a huge wooden crate out front that they will be putting a new LR3 in for a big open house/unveiling (there is nothing in the crate yet though). The owner of the dealership that I was at owns another LR dealership in the state, and he is...

I would love to do the Moab trip as well, but I will be in Miami Oct 5th - Oct 10th, and in Vancouver WA the next weekend.

    Most Important tools?

So I have now added zip ties, a mallet, a lighter-powered air compressor (only for emergency use, not meant for airing up after the trail), a cargo net that covers the entire roof rack, bungee cords, and some blankets. All of these items are in a plastic box in the back of the Discovery
