    vin decoding

The disclaimer on the calVIN web site states that it is entirely possible that your VIN number may not match the algorithm being used by the computer program - resulting in incorrect and/or inconsistent results. So to Sydney's point, you would most likely get "reliable" information by sending...

Reagan, Could you post some pics of your wind fairing mounted on the rack?

    Rusted Vehicles . . .

I agree Sergei - I have seen quite a few LR frames with some rust on them (mostly around the trailer hitch).

Thinking of purchasing a discovery couple of questions

Make sure the engine is cold before you start it for the first time - just to make sure it hasn't been "warmed-up" to mask any starting running/idling problems.

    Chainsaw ?

Joey, Post some pics of your LR in the gallery. I am especially interested in checking out your safari rack.

    Last Ditch Effort

Well Melissa, I offer both my condolences and congratulations. It will be sad to see you go, but I do love a good BMW. Also, you should fell proud that you stuck through so much (much more than I ever would have been able to stand). At least post some pics of your next ride - would love to...

best rock sliders for my d1

If you need 'em fast, probably don't want NorthWest Parts. They seem to be booked right now (but you could call/leave a message to check for yourself).

    Coolant Leak Update

Oh dear, what has this thread turned into?!?!?!

    Got one!!

That is interesting that the ebay description mentions that it has xenon headlights, when in fact they are not. Oh well, the shape of the light assembly makes it easy to make that mistake. I also have a 2004 SE7, you can see pictures of it in my gallery here...

What about teeth mods? Any aftermarket teeth, or metal replacement parts/filler? I have occasionally seen some people with Safety Devices racks in their mouths, lots of places to hook tie downs on. Also have seen some people with modified headlamp assemblys (I think they are...

It might be nice though to have a picture of "Henry" above/below the list of mods so that we have a frame of reference when we are looking at what a RoverChic is capable of...

This Is The Mod And Photo Thread!

2004 Land Rover Discovery SE7 2004 Land Rover Discovery SE7 Has every option that the HSE7 has, except for the Harman Kardon stereo and obviously different wheels (I wanted the HSE7, but could not find the exact one that I wanted in the entire western US - this SE7 was the closest that I...

My mods are all mostly cosmetic (DVD player, roof rack, light/brush bar, etc...). Let me see if I can get a decent picture and list the mods that I have made (you know, there are so many this is a little overwhelming  ). J/K

    Another Leak ...Its Coolant

On a happier note, once you have your law degree, and you find suitable employment, you should be able to afford either a) all of those repairs, or b) a new(er) rover with fewer problems.

    Whats on your LR?

With that small of a difference in pressure (say from 39psi to 35psi), will there be any noticeable difference in mileage or wear?
  18. tmiller1

    What do ya'll think?

As Andy stated, it is very stable (due to such a heavy/sturdy frame that creates a much lower center of gravity than the vehicle appears to have). As for the stability control, on the 2004 model year the suspension has been revised quite a bit. My local LR dealer no longer orders the...

    DiscoMike is famous!

Justin, Thanks for that link. Besides showing how famous Mike is, the thread in itself is a very intersting read. I especially like the descriptions that the forum posters give for loving/owning a Land Rover.

    Newbie! please help!

You can find 100 octane at any municipal airport, since that is what every non-jet/non-turbo-prop airplane uses (100 LL). How might I know this you may ask? I worked as a lineman at a local airport for 2 years. Most racing gasoline is also 100 octane, and can be occasionally found at...

What should I buy: roof rack or hella lights?

Chris, what are all of the materials that you used to create your custom air dams? The noise is horrid with my new rack once I reach about 60 MPH.

    Stock Vs. Vented Rotors

The sound that you are talking about is actually the 4X4 system engaging. When one or more wheels loose traction a brake (the ABS sound you here) is applied to that wheel so that more power can be applied to that axle. On most conventional 4X4 systems, once you have wheel slippage alll power is...

What should I buy: roof rack or hella lights?

I finally got the rack mounted! I dipped the feet and clamps in liquid rubber last night and put it on my Discovery this morning. I may strip the liquid rubber off of the clamps (puts a little too much bulk on, my door just barely misses hitting the bottom of the clamp), but I will take care...
