She has a problem taking fuel... help

Are you filling by hand (i.e., actually holding the lever yourself) or locking the lever? Sometimes I have a hard time using the lever "lock" and have to slow the flow....it was a vent issue that the recall fixed.

Why are you sustaining 80-85 mph? Seems like a built-in speed limit compliance device!

    Diesel conversion???

Look at East Coast Rovers, I know they did a 300Tdi conversion on a Disco. It's not cheap. They even say on their site that it'll take 10 years at current fuel costs for the engine to reflect savings. And, diesel prices are increasing....

It is super easy on D1's, can't be that bad on DII's. I have EBC pads and have been very happy.

Welcome Asterix! Do any offroading in that 96?

    Vehicle Stutters and coughs

Could be a lot of things. I would start with a check of the "stepper" motor (a/k/a Idle Air Control), which probably needs to be cleaned. Other than that, it could be bad gas, or a dirty Mass Air Flow Sensor. Do some searching and see what you can fix.

Oil pressure light - Disco Series I

Do a search for "pickup tube", and get ready to get dirty. It's possible that you have: (1) A faulty sensor (2) Dying oil pump (3) Clogged pickup tube in the oil sump

    Discovery 1 or Discovery 2

D1, per the Workshop Manual, is a 2540mm wheelbase, which converts to 100 inches. I thought the extra overall length of the D2 was solely in the "boot."

    Check Engine Light question

It seems like that switch works its way loose over time, and then comes off. It definitely affects your cruise control, although I'm not sure why it would cause a CEL either... Glad to hear it's fixed, either way...

    Low hanging exhaust....(long)

Still no answer to my request for an explanation... As this is an informational site, with a stated goal in the forums of being "friendlier" than other sites, I'll refrain from responding to Steve C or FreeFlyTim's messages. They should know that, in the event of a moderator or the site...

    Low hanging exhaust....(long)

What does independent suspension have to do with it? it still gets in the way on clearance issues, as posted to above... Please educate me, then. Why was the exhaust pipe run underneath the axle, rather than above it like on, well, Series, Defenders, Rangies, and Discoveries?

    Low hanging exhaust....(long)

You know, when Sam first posted pictures of the LR3 here I thought that must've been some sort of "let's just get a tailpipe on there so we can drive it, then we'll put the real one [mounted over the axle] on" siutation. That is a stupid design. There should be nothing below the axle...

    Negative Fuel Tank pressure?

Mine does that (1) After long drives (2) With low fuel amounts (3) When it's sat for a few days and then refilled. I think it's normal. It's never been an issue with my truck's starting or operating.

    red light? bottom center

That is your alarm LED. Activating the alarm shuts off the ignition. Try turning the alarm off (unlock doors, even if they appear unlocked) and attempt to start again. [EDIT: DAMN! Joey beat me to it!]
