You should be able to release the wire from the older, and fit a new metal contact on it. Not ideal, but it's fixable.

It looks like it probably has a plug on it somewhere, perhaps in the shifter? It looks like you might want to continue to disassemble it.. Obviously water in there somewhere. I would lean toward replacement. That means it needs to come apart anyway..

btw gang, each FOB is programmed separately. So if the better half prefers lights, and you prefer all unlock... program each fob for the one behavior for that fob. While the all unlock is handy, for a woman at night, the single door unlock is a safer bet.

I was originally thinking Front Runner slimline, but was told it would not hold up, the Baja is indestructable.. So I guess it depends on your use for it.. I have been happy with the Baja.. You can order direct or through resellers such as Lucky8 or British 4x4 outfitters.
Normally, just replace the entire assembly, which includes thermostat, housing, temp sensor, etc. it's not expensive.
There is a bleeding procedure, which may be tricky. I also ran my heat when bleeding to ensure all hoses where flushed out.

Yes, I had the exact same thing, that is how I know. It didn't rear it's ugly head until SCARR. When I went off road, extended height it was happening way more, immediately, then when it went into super extended mode, it sounded like to cats in a bag... squealing and screeching like belts...
