I would think it's at least worth the effort. I'd grab a couple off of AutoTrader our Cars.com and print 'em out and bring them in for comparison sake; I did this (politely) last night with a Canadian dealer and they actually said they'd look at shopping a used one from the US for me...
I'm assuming this is an 08? I've been tracking prices across the US (I'm in Canada, but will fly up to 1k miles for a deal!) and have noticed that the market is continuing to fall. I've seen a few low mileage (ie < 10k) HSEs pop up around the 36-37k asking price, and actually a few SEs at 30k...
Excellent write up - especially as I near my purchase for an '06 SE7 or HSE7; I do have one quick question; there's a line in the write-up that mentions "better" seats in the HSE trim - what exactly is the difference - I've driven both (V8 2007s), but honestly don't remember the seat difference?
I may take you up on that! I'm about 3 hours or so from Detroit; an easy drive (minus the potholes on the US side  ).
Any ideas on what the prices look like? Feel free to PM if you don't want to post in the regular forum.
I've been scouring the internet for the last few months and TexasCarsDirect usually seems to have some of the lowest prices. Unfortunately I'm still holding an aging LR Freelander that needs to go before acquring the LR3, so I haven't purchased anything yet (SWMBO doesn't seem to like the idea...
Having done a few car stereo installs, it definitely sounds like a ground loop issue. Given that you get the noise when not using the jack, I can't imagine it would be a bad jack, unless the grounding point runs through the jack (I can see some engineer thinking that this would be an effecient...
I'm a DIY type of guy for simple things (fluids/plugs/brakes), but my father-in-law who is actually a mechanical engineer would often take his cars in to get his oil changed - he'd always mark the side of his oil filters with a black marker; he figured about 1 out 5 oil changes he'd find that...
I've seen a couple of roof racks that work on suction cups - they claim to hold up to 80lbs at highway speeds - I'm sure this sort of tech would do the trick, assuming that the flag pole itself is relatively flexible (thus relieveing some of the movement stresses).
Is it possible that they are a bit more even to enable heel-toe? Obviously not a likely in an automatic, but given that the LR3/Disco3 is a world market vehicle with some nice 6-speed diesels (from what I've heard), this sounds like a possibility.
As I recall from driving a 6 speed Jeep...
Good afternoon (for the NA folks),
First time poster with an unusual question...
I'm looking at purchasing a used LR3 and have a question about the 2nd row headrests - I noticed the headrests in the attached image on what's reported to be a 2006 LR3 (from a dealership on the US site...
