    Look at the AC case below the cabin filter. If the metal retaining clips are rusted, the windshield cowl is leaking.

    You shouldn't use silicone on the pan gasket. The transmission fluid can dissolve the silicone.

    Usually, the elbows in the front drains would dry rot and fall apart. Hence the water inside the vehicle. You can use a VOLVO part, which is just the elbow. VOLVO part # 30753148 Also. Make sure the windshield wiper cowl is firmly sealed against the windshield.

    I can't tell what is going on without a video of the engine, while it's acting up. Does the engine sound like it's spinning over faster than usual? Possibly and oil pressure issue. The intake valves are hydraulically actuated. The intake valve solenoids may be sludged up.
